Amanda Harrison, M.S. OTR/L, attended Averett University where she served as SGA president and graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences. Amanda went on to further her education by attending Howard University where she served as student body president and received her Master’s of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy. After completing her clinical rotations at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and The Medical College of Virginia, Amanda realized her passion for helping children, adults, as well as motivating families to reach their full potential. Amanda has experience working with individuals ages 0-104 and is excited to be a part of the Alafia team.
Ms. Shola Asenuga is a distinguished physical therapist with over 30 years of comprehensive experience garnered in the United States Air Force Medical Service and at her private practice, Kingsway Physical Therapy LLC. She holds a Masters degree in physical therapy from Boston University and an active Virginia state license. She is now devoted to improving the lives of individuals who might not otherwise qualify for rehabilitation services through Alafia.
Teresa Jackson is from southern Delaware. She graduated from Old Dominion University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Language Pathology and Audiology and a minor in Special Education. She earned her Master of Arts degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Delaware in Newark, Delaware. Teresa has experience assessing and treating children and adults in various settings including public and charter schools, outpatient clinics and skilled nursing facilities. Through education and experience, Teresa has also had the pleasure of working with a wide variety of diverse individuals, coupled with a similarly vast array of impairments and diagnoses. She is a firm believer in building sound rapport with her clients, insisting that the therapeutic relationship is foundational to both diagnostic and intervention processes for those of various cultural backgrounds as well as complex needs. Teresa is excited to collaborate with and be a part of the Alafia team. Outside of the realm of speech-Language pathology, Teresa enjoys traveling, going to church, and spending time with loved ones.
Ana Lopez-Tucker is from New York City. She is graduating from Regent University in May 2020 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical Psychology and a minor in Theology and has earned a Theology certification from Anchor Academy. Ana has 14 years of experience in family, marriage, and individual spiritual counseling, as well as in facilitating cognitive behavioral groups. She has established a rapport with individuals, spouses, family, therapists and various support systems to enhance both spiritual wellbeing and mental health. Ana is the founder of IMAGINE Ministry that helps individuals with various mental health challenges. Ana looks forward to her association with Alafia.
